In our Omega juicer reviews, we take a closer look at the best juicers they have to offer. But first…
Why Omega?
Omega are known for making the best masticating juicers (slow juicers). They’re a great choice for three reasons:
- They make the best juicers for leafy greens.
- They make solid and dependable machines.
- They’ve been around for a long time.
Why is how long they’ve been around important? Because their warranty actually means something. Juicer companies tend to pop up out of nowhere, also offering 15 year warranties. The problem is, they probably won’t be around to honor it. With Omega, you won’t have this problem.
They have a lot of machines, so to make it easy, I’ve only picked their best machines for my Omega juicer reviews.
Omega make two different kinds of slow juicers - horizontal juicers and vertical juicers.
They both juice in the same way - using a slowly rotating single auger. This powerful auger crushes and squeezes every last drop of produce, producing extremely dry pulp. It also adds almost no oxygen or heat into your juice, preserving your juice’s valuable nutrition and enzymes.
Vertical juicers will take up less space on your kitchen counter, which makes it better for you if you have a small kitchen.
Horizontal Juicers:
Omega 8006

The Omega 8006 does a tremendous job of balancing price, performance and reliability, with some nice surprises along the way. Its single auger does a great job of juicing expensive leafy greens, yielding twice as much juice on leafy greens than a centrifugal juicer.
In fact, because of the daily savings you’ll be making on leafy greens, this machine will pay for itself within a few months.
Combined with the 15 year warranty, the savings you’ll make over this time will be in the $thousands.
It’s quiet, quick to clean (taking under 2 minutes) and easy to use. It’s also versatile, making fruit sorbet, nut butters, and more.
In my opinion, the Omega 8006 is the best entry-level masticating juicer on the market.

If you don’t care about the color, you can save even more by buying the Omega 8004 here, which is the same as the 8006 but in white.

Omega NC800 HDS

This is the 2014 update of the Omega 8006, and it has all of the same benefits plus a few more up its sleeve:
It has an adjustable end cap which lets you maximize the juice yield over all produce, and not just leafy greens.
It has heavy-duty juicing screen.
It uses BPA free plastic, which is safer.
It has a wider feed chute, meaning you will spend less time pre-cutting produce.
It looks more modern.
The price of the NC800 HDS isn’t much more than the 8006, and you’ll certainly have no regrets if you can stretch your budget to it.

Vertical Juicers
Omega VRT350 HD

The Omega VRT350 HD is an upright masticating juicer. Like the 8006 it has a single auger, which ensures you get the most out of your leafy greens.
The main advantage this has over the 8006 its space saving design. Ideal if you have a smaller kitchen. It has another huge advantage over the 8006 - effortless juicing.
With the 8006, you need to put pressure on all produce with the plastic ‘pusher’. The auger will then take ‘bites’ out of it until it disappears. The VRT350’s auger, on the other hand, does it by itself. Simply feed the item (e.g. carrot, cucumber, large leafs) into the top, and the auger will pull it through on its own.
Other benefits are a pulpier juice (simply place a strainer like this on top of your juice container if you don’t like the pulp), and a wider feed chute which saves you time in preparing your produce.
Cleaning takes a bit longer than the 8006 though, taking around 4 minutes.
It comes with a 10 year warranty, making sure your investment lasts a full decade.

Vertical Juicers Comparison
The Omega VRT350 has had two revisions since:
VRT400 HD (Minor Updates)
- Two juicing screens - a fine and a coarse one
- An included sieve to strain your juice as it leaves the juicer
- A ‘stopper’ on the juice port to prevent it dripping onto your counter
- 5 more years on the warranty
VSJ843RS (Major Update)
- Slightly increased juice yield
- The easiest to clean vertical juicer
Here’s a table comparing the VRT350 vs VRT400 vs VSJ843RS

I had the 8006 for a couple of years now and the pulp is jamming up lately. The auger was getting pretty green and I used a steel brush to clean it but that did not help the problem. It jams soon after I begin and I need to take it apart and clear the pulp several times before finishing. I would like to hear of possible solutions, thanks
