Calories aren’t just a dirty work put on food labels, they’re also units of energy.
Logically, if you want more energy you’ll need to eat more calories. This, however, is a slippery slope to:

Weight gain.
But there is another way to get more energy, and that comes in how the food you eat is metabolized.
Certain vitamins and minerals are key in this process, and when you get more, you’ll release more energy from what you eat.
These vitamins and minerals are: Vitamins B2 and B6, Magnesium, and Copper.
Vitamin B2 - found in Spinach, Collard and Chard.[1]
Vitamin B6 - found in Spinach, Bell Peppers and Turnip Greens.[2]
Magnesium - found in Spinach, Chard and Kale.[3]
Copper - found in Kale.[4]
Do you juice lots of greens leaves? The best juicers for greens will yield twice as much green juice, saving you money daily.
Note: these are especially useful if you’re weightlifting, since calories are required by your body to build muscle.
