The NESCO/American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender isn’t in the same league as the Breville Juice and Blend - it’s a completely different machine with different uses.

Cheap: The biggest thing the JB-50 has going for it is its small price. It’s perfect if you’re brand new to juicing and blending, and just want to give it a go before upgrading later.

Other things worth noting:

• The base is very light, and comes with suction cups to physically stick it to your counter.
• The feed chute is very narrow because of the motor’s low power. This means most produce needs a lot of pre-cutting.

Its low power, small size and plastic build all help to keep its price down.

For Personal Use Only: The JB-50 is a tiny machine with a small motor. It only has enough power to juice or blend for one person at a time, and comes with a single serve cup to catch the juice.

If you want to juice more than this, you’ll need to stop the juicer, empty the bin and carry on.

However, this increases the risk of burning the motor out - the instructions say it shouldn’t be left on for more than 3 minutes without a 30 second rest, but I personally believe that this is still too much strain.

Simple Blender: Because of its low power, the JB-50 isn’t suitable for green vegetables or roots like ginger. It’s more suited for berries and water, milk or thin yogurt.

The blender carafe is 50oz and made of glass though, which is a nice surprise. The clips which fasten it to the base are very weak and flimsy though.

Fiddly to Clean: Unfortunately there are some awkward nooks and crannies to get into in both the juicer and the blender.

The NESCO/American Harvest JB-50 2-in-1 Juicer/Blender is the budget best juicer blender combo by default - there simply aren’t many around.

It suffers badly from what I mentioned before - it tries to do too much and ends up doing both badly.

If you’re brand new to juicing and blending, buying this juicer and this blender makes much more sense since they perform better and come to almost the same price.
